After review and critiques from last class, I decided to tone down the whole color scheme and make it much less aggressive and much cooler in terms of color temperature. My intention is for all the pages to have the same basic layout. I also decided that as a way to help whoever is navigating around the page know where they are, there won't be a physical button/highlight on the link name as there are for the others.



Since I did not include an actual home page last time, here it is.

Most of my pages will look similar to this. In this case here, the page is the gallery main page and will feature a few samples from each of my categories. There will be navigation buttons within the specific portions of the website on the left side.

for my front page, i would like to keep it relatively simple, same for my main pages, nothing too flashy, just enough to get the point across

This...this is youtube. I quite like the layout of having the sample screenshot of the videos with a few statistics and and the videos' titles. This kind of setup could be useful for my portfolio by helping with user readability and highlighting the more popularly viewed items. It would give potential employers/clients a way to see how well liked my projects are by the general public and other employers/clients.






This is DeviantArt. This is very similar to youtube's layout and format. The big difference is the lack of statistics under the front page's samples and the inclusion of a menu on the side that lets users pick a genre/category to browse through. This style could help employers/clients decide which category they need to look through for their specifics purposes.







This is 2Advanced. This site looks pretty artistic and is very appealing at a first glance. Further inspection shows that it is entirely flash made. The menus are hover-based and drop down from their original location and have extensions to the sides for embedded menus. At the bottom is a section run similar to a headlines section of a news site where this particular company keeps a posting of their bigger projects and business partners. The biggest advantage to having a layout like this is that the center visual is quite compelling and draws people to it, so it would be more likely to have people stay and stare at it longer, and the longer it's there, the longer people will be more inclined to look around and explore.
